Welcome to Pawnee I.S.D.

Home of the Fighting Indians & Redwings

August 25, 2008

Pawnee is a small community in the northern part of Bee County, Texas with about 350 residents.  It is home to a Pre-K through 8th grade school district, one post office, numerous oil and gas well locations, a community meeting hall, five churches, a gas treatment plant about three miles out of town, and a store that doubles as the town's only eatery--DeFe Cafe.  Local residents travel to surrounding towns, including Kenedy, Beeville and Three Rivers for most of their shopping needs.

Pawnee I.S.D. is the center of community activities for Pawnee residents.  The outlying farms and ranches are connected to the community through the school and its many functions.  School facilities are used for community and family gatherings whenever a large space is needed.

Pawnee I.S.D. offers many activities for their students, including UIL sports and academic competitions, 4-H county and state shows, a 21st Century Afterschool Program, and several distance-learning courses and videoconferencing opportunities.
