Nueces River Authority Presents Watershed Program

Beth Almaraz of the Nueces River Authority presented an informative and fun program on the Nueces River Watershed on June 10 to K-8th grade students attending the 21st Century Summer Camp. Ms. Almaraz focuses on teaching students the value of preserving our fresh water supply. She brought a very large scale model of the Nueces River Watershed that is on loan from the Texas State Aquarium. The model teaches students how pollution enters our waterways, and how healthy riparian areas prevent erosion and filter pollutants.
