Digital Literacy and Citizenship

Digital citizenship is an important part of education since we are increasingly teaching using web resources and other web-based technologies.  Being a good digital citizen means following the rules of appropriate technology use and knowing what responsible and appropriate online behavior is.  We want to promote 21st century skills while making ethical and respectful decisions about our digital footprints. There are many issues that face us today that we need to be vigilant in teaching ourselves and children about.

CommonSenseMedia.org is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization, that provides trustworthy information and tools, as well as an independent forum, so that families can have a choice and a voice about the media they consume.

Most of the material posted in the Digital Citizenship section of this website references the information from CommonSenseMedia.org.
