A Note from the Superintendent

I am incredibly honored and humbled to be chosen as the Superintendent of the Pawnee Independent School District. As an educator of twenty plus years, this is a great opportunity to further my aspirations of inspiring, impacting and improving the lives of all students. I stand determined to ensure all students who attend our school receive a quality education that catapults them into successful futures.  

In my role as Superintendent, I want to ensure we focus on what matters most; cultivating the dreams in every child by creating classrooms that are innovating centers of learning, with caring adults who engage students in rigorous, culturally responsive experiences that prepare them for their future endeavors.

I have had the opportunity to visit Pawnee’s off campus sites and have had the privilege of meeting the site directors of those sites.  It brings tears to my eyes and joy to my heart to see so many people who share a common goal and that is to do what’s best for kids.  Now being in this position for almost a  month, I realized we have the opportunity to impact lives across the state of Texas.  Anyone and Everyone who is involved in Pawnee ISD should be proud to know we serve kids across the state. We have campuses located in Cleburne, Azle, Stephenville, Galveston, Texas City, and Pearland.  In addition there are campuses in Refugio, Beeville, Coastal Bend College and of course our home campus here in Pawnee, Texas.  All of this is done through an amazing partnership with Ubring.  This partnership embodies the very notion that through collaboration the impossible is possible.  Simply put, Mahatma Gandhi Said, “To reach real peace in the world, we will have to begin with children”.

Collaborative Leadership matters and is something I view necessary in order to move in a positive direction. While I may be at the center, people with diverse exemplary skill sets move the work forward.  I believe in collaborating with all stakeholders and will be taking time to acclimate myself to the community while identifying Pawnee’s core values, aspirations, strengths, and challenges.

My goal is to create a foundation upon which we can build a stronger future for our community, for our employees, and most importantly, for our students.

As we strive for excellence and equity in all our schools, it is my hope that we chart our path forward in a strategic, reflective, and collaborative manner.  We will continue the established standards of excellence and ensure we have excellent schools that make the American Dream a living reality for our students.  I look forward to working together and continuing to transform and improve our students’ lives.  As I stated in the beginning, I am incredibly honored and humbled to be chosen as the Superintendent of the Pawnee Independent School District.
